Warmfront Review
By Roger Hospedales
Here is the scenario. It’s too cold to go with just a bike shirt, you know it is going to heat up later, and you don’t want to carry around an extra layer when that happens. What to do? Put on the Warmfront.
The Warmfront is a nifty apparel piece that you comfortably fasten around your neck, and it protects your chest/core area from the cold air. This is a much better option that stuffing your shirt with newspaper like the boys at the Tour de France do.
The soft material of the Warmfront blocks the wind, insulates and wicks sweat to ensure that the material does not get soggy with perspiration. The major convenience comes in its ability to fold up for compact storage. This is suited for races such as Ironman when the conditions are often chilly to start and then heats up later during the ride. It is also ideal for those early morning training rides that have similar conditions. They work perfectly with a pair of arm warmers.
It is unobtrusive and comfy. In fact, I’ve often forgotten that I have it on even when it heats up. The Warmfront has become a necessary and much valued piece in my apparel lineup. I’ve also found it useful for cross-country skiing or winter running.
