Epic 8hr MTB Hardwood Hills.
The 2nd leg of the 8hr EPiC MTB series took place at Hardwood Hills MTB Centre. Known for its technical trails and hilly terrain, Hardwood is also the host of the Canada and Ontario Cup MTB races as well as the popular 24hr races. For Harper, James G., Bill T and myself, this race was a final warmup before we head out west for the Transrockies Challenge.
Compared to the previous Epic 8 race, this 10k course appeared less hillier with more twists and turns. Somehow after 5-6 laps the little hills, became mountains and the twists and turns a little bit slippier! After 8 hrs, Bill won his age group and Harper and James tied for 5th place in the open male division. I upped my lap count by one from the previous epic to 10 laps and felt 10x better!
