I recently decided to try out a Nathan Hydration Belt (4 bottles) as a replacement to my single bottle carrier. I was tired of the bottle bruising my back, leaking, and (very annoying) bouncing out so that I was constantly reaching back to secure it.
When I first put the Nathan Belt on in the store I was struck by two things. 1) How much more comfortable it felt due to the wideness and elasticity of the belt. 2) How was I going to run with those bottles stuck right under my arms? Surely I’d be banging them all the time? Not to be put off I wore the belt on my next long run.
Of immediate note were the following:
- The comfort. Having the weight dispersed all the way around was great.
- There was room for my gels, spare change AND my BlackBerry.
- I had a selection of water, eload and gatorade.
- The belt didn’t rub at all
- The bottles were secure, no chance of these ones bouncing out!
- One leaked (my fault as I didn’t screw the lid on properly) but because I had four bottles the leakage was contained and I still had lots of water in the other bottles.
- And no! My arms were not banging into the bottles at all.
I have worn my Nathan Hydration belt for about 200 km now and love the comfort and convenience of it!
