On Sunday November the 4th I ran the Angus Glen 10K. Definitely I love this race, I won in my age group setting up my PB: 43:19’, breaking my previous record of 43:37’ set at the SportingLife 10K.
Since I was able to achieve all my personal sport goals for this year, (top five within my age group, run 10K under 44:00’ and stay injured free), I feel extremely great. The sensation of achievement it is priceless. I don’t want to sound like the commercial, but it really is.
Ok, let’s talk a little bit about the race.
This is a small venue, which actually combines 10K walk, half marathon run and half marathon walk, which is held by the Angus Glen Golf Club and is a charitable, not for profit event aimed at raising funds for Markham Stoufville Hospital’s Emergency and Mental Health Services.
The course begins and ends at the beautiful Angus Glen Golf Club, at 10080 Kennedy Road, just north of Major Mackenzie.
0-3KM: Approximately the first 400 yards take participants along the winding driveway of the golf course. The route then heads into the community of Angus Glen, winding along the exterior of the neighbourhood on a very slight downhill.
4KM-6KM: Upon exiting the community, a gradual and long hill stretches on Kennedy Road to Elgin Mills Road.
At 6.5KMs, right above Elgin Mills Road, the 10K route turns around and head back down Kennedy Road and in to the clubhouse.
The course is tough, since the “gradual” 2+ kilometers hill occurs right in the middle of the run, where the fatigue is starting to settle in; however, everything is downhill to the finish line after that.
After the race, the award ceremony with a music band, good quality food, plus a nice warm shower at the golf facilities make this race a must in your race calendar.
te felicito hijo y espero que continuen tus hijos lamisma carrera
Hi Horatio. I ran the same race and enjoyed it tremendously. I have also created a little tool to explore the race results that you and your readers might be interested in. You can find it at:

Congrats. I ran it too and quite enjoyed the race. I saw quite a number of Red Team Running Free on route. Jeff, I like your tool. I would love to see the results for the Reykyavik (Cdn results) race.
