This will be my first post as a Team Running Free member. I have chosen to write about the ATB race I completed this past Sunday. Wow! What a great challenge. The longest race up until the ATB was almost 2 years ago, and it was a Long Course Triathlon in Muskoka. The run part of it was a mere 15km. So, doubling it on Sunday was, well, quite rewarding.
It rained. Boy did it rain! But, the weather aside, it was one of the most memorable races I have ever completed. The sheer volume of enthusiasm and positive support was overwhelming.
I don’t think I have ever hurt so much in the last legs of a race in my life… or for 2 days afterwards. However, I take with me 30km of running with a friend, in a garabage bag, and receiving more “You look awesome comments” than ever before! I swear it was the unfitted, but oh so flattering green Glad bag over me. 🙂
I highly recommend the ATB race to everyone looking to check one more accomplishment off of their list.
Oh, and the famous ‘wall of pain hill’ really isn’t so bad – if you keep your eyes down on the road 🙂
Happy Running!
