I must admit I was a little skeptical about how different these $50 goggles would be from a lower cost pair. Until now, I was only familiar with the performance of cheaper goggles that had a poor fit, would typically fog up, and had straps that would loosen once in place. I found these issues annoying when I wanted to do a continuous swim without stopping to adjust the goggles.I decided to test my newly acquired goggles on a warm summer day at Balm Beach located on the shore of Georgian Bay with my family. I, my brother, sister in law, nephew (14), and niece (10) each tried the goggles and provided comments which I have summarized below in Pros and Cons lists. The goggles were used while swimming a variety of strokes (front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke, side stroke) and when swimming under water.
Pros
Great suction to face which kept the water out
Anti-fog feature was excellent
Able to adjust to face with eyes close together and large nose using by adjusting nose piece
Tinted Lens were great for sun
Adjustable straps were easy to adjust
Nice hard plastic carrying case
Cons
Younger tester with smaller head didn’t like dangling straps
Sometimes had to adjust straps more than once to compensate for high suction power
Price a little high for purchasing for younger kids unless they are serious about speed swimming or competing in triathlons
Overall I would recommend these goggles to people who are serious swimmers or appreciate quality and performance in a pair of goggles and don’t mind spending a little more for these qualities.
