Well let’s face it many runners like to have a light shoe for some faster speed sessions or for those who require a bit more shoe, as a race day shoe.
I’ve had the opportunity to wear the Mizuno Wave Precision 10 for a little over a month now and really like them a lot. As is typical with the Mizuno line up, these shoes have a bit of a lower profile to them. This allows for a great “feel of the road” without “feeling too much of the road” if you know what I mean. With all the talk about mid-foot running and “natural” running, it’s nice to know that Mizuno has been making this style of shoe for quite a while. It’s safe to say that they have realized for some time now how a shoe should be for efficient running.
This shoe tips the scale at a scant 9.9 ounces for the mens model, which for a training shoe is considered quite light. This is why I mentioned that those who typically train in a more substantial shoe will find this to be a great race day shoe for 5km right up through the marathon. Keep in mind though that this is a neutral shoe meaning you would need to have efficient running form (no overpronation) to wear this wear. But fear not, as Mizuno’s got you covered if you do pronate. You can always opt for the Wave Elixir 5 which I reviewed back in the spring. Click the link to read that review.
So if you have a neutral foot, you have a few choices with Mizuno: the Wave Creation for maximum cushioning, the Wave Rider 13 for nice cushioning without any added weight, or the Precision 10 for a nice lightweight training shoe.
