In my report on the Ronin 2 last year, I mentioned how fast (or wicked fast) that this shoe was and how it was the perfect neutral flat. Well leave it to Mizuno to find a way to make it better (or ‘more perfect’).
First of all, they managed to remove 0.4 ounces from the shoe (7.4 to 7.0) which is a feat considering no loss of cushioning, at all! As I mentioned in the last write up, this is a really comfortable racing flat; one that I use for the full marathon, yes, 42.2 km. I find it that comfortable.
Second, and this is for all the female runners out there, yes ladies, finally a Mizuno flat just for you! Yes these now come in a specific womans width and size.
And finally, the forefoot mesh has been improved by adding a stretchable material which keeps the toes ultra-comfy during races. The wave plate is amazing as it not only offers superior cushioning but it also adds some mild pronation support. This doesn’t mean that I recommend it for the moderate pronator as Mizuno makes a flat for this type of runner and it’s called the Musha 3 which you can find by clicking here.
Now get your butt down to Running Free (the Ajax location if you want to speak with me personally as I work there all day Saturday). Be sure to take advantage of the additonal $5 savings by clicking here.
Cheers and happy racing,
