For several years I have chosen FoxRiver socks over any others. Whether it is for running, hiking or casual everyday use, this is my sock brand of choice.
The designs and colours are subtle and tasteful. The materials are all comfortable regardless of whether you are wearing the running specific socks or the thicker wool. They are not itchy or uncomfortable and the socks stay put. I have never had to stop and adjust these socks during a run or ride. The only damage that has ever occurred to my feet while wearing FoxRiver socks was a cut on my ankle from a blade of grass rubbing during an Ironman and a couple lost toe nails, and that can be blamed on poor shoe choice. Perhaps the most vigorous testing these socks went through was at Ironman Cozumel. At the beginning of the run there was a downpour which caused some flooding along the course. Through one section there was a 5 inch deep puddle that was approximately 20 metres long. There was no avoiding it and after 42 kms of running in the same pair of FoxRiver socks – 6 times through this one “puddle” – I finished without a single blister!
I have had my favourite pair for at least three years and they are my “lucky” race socks. The poor thinks have done two Ironman’s and a marathon as well as dozens of triathlons and running specific races. I really should have some sort of retirement ceremony for them. Not because they are dirty or worn or past their prime, they just deserve a vacation! I am always surprised how well they continue to hold up. FoxRiver socks have stamina!
