Fox River Socks Review – Colour over Comfort?

“Black socks, they never get dirty
the longer you wear em the blacker they get

Sometimes I think I should change em but something keeps telling me
Oh no not yet … not yet”

Colour was an important factor in choosing socks.  Black still looked good after a trail run, while all others looked dirty! Women like to match their socks to their outfit so, of course, I chose Acceleration in black, pink and blue.

Yes, all the socks I tried were extremely well-made and durable. They fit my feet well and snuggly without squeezing them. They dry very quickly so ideal for wet days or cross country courses.

In terms of lengths, I am a dyed in the merino wool quarter girl.  Yes, I tried one pair of ankle but they don’t give me the security I need for trail running.

Here are the socks I tested (in order of preference): Acceleration, Strive, AXT Trail, and Endurance.

Acceleration – Your “feet get pounded when you run trails”. These were the best at foot-hugging to keep the sock in place/prevents blister.

Strive“A rugged, light-weight, quick-drying sock, designed for outdoor, active wear”. These are the thickest and I love them, but sometimes too thick for the weather.

AXT Trail“Lightweight comfort and cushion will keep feet happy on the next adventure”. These were my first love in FoxSox. After owning a pair, I gave all my adult kids socks in their Xmas stocking (ha! ha!).

Endurance“High performance yarn meets high-tech fit in this earth-friendly, foot-happy walking sock”. These were my least favourite and are used for walking.

I recommend that you have at least 2 pairs of FoxSox in your gym bag at all times!  Try black for the race and white/pink for afters!

I love the outdoors and nature, therefore trail running is my 'thing'.
