Review of Nathan Quick Change Gear bag.
So the season is coming to the end, and for me it would not have been a better time to do my review on this gear bag.
I was in the market for a gear bag this season as I found out and most of us do, that when heading off to a race you need lots of room for our Running Free gear. I am primarily a road runner so I was a little concerned with getting a Tri bag, but wow was I impressed. This bag did it all for me, I can’t believe the room it has for all of the gear needed for racing, it has specific spots for your shoes, so they don’t get the race smell over all of your other gear, it has spots for your gels, salts, energy bars, creams/lotions, and sun glasses. That is all in the outside compartments, inside the main bag there is tons of room for your shirts, shorts, gloves, hats, warm clothes for after, or cooler days, water bottles, drink mixes, and whatever else you can think of. The bag is equipped with shoulder straps that you can use as a back pack, which makes it really easy to take with you into a hotel when your hands are already filled with your suitcase. Another great feature it has is the pullout change pad, I only used it a couple of times to change my shoes, but what I did like it for was to hold my race bib nice and flat, ready for race day.
My wife and I recently took a quick trip to Niagara for a bike ride and run and this bag fit everything I needed. We both had bike shoes, running shoes, bike helmet ( on the attached cargo net) , warm pants, bib shorts, jacket, water bottles, long sleeve running shirt, arm warmers, running shorts, socks, all of the gels and stingers always stay in their spot, and I’m probably missing some. But this bag handled it all, and kept it all in a tidy clean area, not scattered all over the trunk of the car.
The most impressive thing about this Nathan Bag is the amount of gear it can hold, on race weekends my wife and I run all races together and we only take this 1 bag for both of our gear, and it holds it with no problems at all, I can see how it would also do well as a Tri bag as it has the room for the wet suit, bike shoes and running shoes.
So, to conclude this brief review: this bag is a winner! Way to go Nathan!
