Salomon Dynamics Jacket
With Salomon being our team sponsor for the last few years I have been very fortunate to have access to some great gear. The Dynamics Jacket has been great new addition to my swelling closet of Salomon apparel and packs.
Weighing in at mere 9 oz this a minimalist jacket with substance.
.
The jacket is a mixed of windproof/ water resistant soft shell and water shedding/ highly breathable stretch woven fabric. The front of the jacket is completely windproof and water resistant with the ergonomic sleeves being a hybrid of the half soft-shell and half highly breathable stretch woven fabric. This allow greater breathability under the arms. The back is highly articulated with an “angel wing” of highly breathable stretch woven fabric with the middle being the windproof soft shell which allows great moisture transfer. keeping you warm and dry.
With the minimalist style this means there is only 2 pockets. A small chest pocket that will fit an ipod/mp3 player with an internal headphone wire feed. The rear pocket is a side entry which is quite roomy and large enough to carry enough food/cell phone for longer pursuits. Salomon also added a retaining clasp just inside of the jacket. My Momentum jacket also has this. It allows me to unzip the jacket to allow for additional ventilation without having the jacket flapping around.
The jacket is designed to work with your layer system, aerobic movements and weather. If you are skate skiing you will need very little underneath. However if you are running long and slow base training will you need a little bit more insulation underneath. I hesitate to mention an exact temperature range due to the fact that everybody reacts differently to the cold.
I look forward to the colder days so I can put this on and get outside!
