I just wanted to post a note to comment on my recent purchase of a Quintana Roo cd0.1. I purchased this from Rick of Real Kool Products (a rep for Quintana Roo Canada) and I can’t be happier I did! It comes with a nice component package (I chose the Ultegra one) for the price, it’s very smooth and quick. I don’t have that much experience riding different tri bikes, but when I went out with friends for a ride I could more easily keep up with the group compared to my old Specialized road bike with much less effort. It is designed with a unique frame with an offset downtube SHIFT that diverts airflow away from the drive side and it is considered one of the best aerodynamic frames out. Other manufacturers are coming up with a similar design (Cervelo P5 and Specialized Shiv) but at a much higher price. For the price, it was really worth me giving it a try given the prospect of spending a lot more for a similar bike or buying a lower end bike that I might have to upgrade. The frame to me is important and this is the big bonus with getting the CD0.1. I can now upgrade components as I go along knowing that I have a quality frame to work with.
You can refer to an article posted by Aaron Putman on November 10th as well to see the more detailed specs. We ride together and he is very detailed in his research as well.
As I have learned from my friends a good fit also makes a huge difference. Rick did a real professional fit for me. He sized me for the frame and assembled the bike to personally fit my size. By hooking up the bike to a power tap, he makes sure that the fit is optimal. He is always available to respond to questions and has provided me with a lot of good information on the quality of my purchase as well as tips on cleaning and maintenance.
Overall I have to say after riding this bike over the last couple of summer months, I am very pleased with the quality, feel, fit and comfort of this bike. I am looking forward to using this bike in my first try a duathlons in the spring. I’ve been a marathon runner for the last 6 years and I am looking to change up my fitness routines, so off on the road with 2 wheels!!
