I had the great pleasure of testing out the Brooks Levitate 2 (https://www.runningfree.com/products/Brooks-Levitate-2-p50035/?pstart=) this season as a result of the Team Running Free lottery.
As a long-distance runner, I really look for that propulsive feeling and the energy return. These shoes felt very comfortable from the moment I put them on. While being a little more stiff and a bit heavier, it provides a nice “bounce” thanks to the DNA AMP technology. Additionally, the Fit Knit upper is absolutely amazing in providing an individualized fit. It wraps your heel and surrounds your achilles tendon, and definitely stands out. I am also a big fan of the style of the shoes. The Levitate 2 is very sleek and comes in a variety of vibrant colours with an interesting, pixelated design. I found them to run true to size and are neither too wide nor too narrow. Ever since I first wore them, I have not had any issues with the fit whatsoever. Durability has not yet been an issue and the sole is still in pretty good condition as compared to other running shoes. It also provides some nice traction and stability when the road gets a little uneven. Moreover, the sole allows for a smooth transition between the heel and the toe while in motion. Throughout the season, I found them to be a versatile item that you can use for faster interval workouts, and are especially great for your longer tempo runs. Overall, while it may not be as “springy” as other recent carbon-fibre shoes, it provides a very secure and natural fit whether you use it for walking or during your mid-distance runs!
