I was beyond excited to get the opportunity to pick up these Brooks Glycerin 21’s thanks to Team Running Free. I have been running in Brooks Ghost shoes for the past 5-7 years, which I have loved, but I felt that it was time to try out a new model. I found that these Gylcerin’s provided a lot of cushioning, which made both my shorter and longer runs feel more comfortable. The toe box is also a little wider than previous runners that I have used, providing more room for my toes. The coolest thing was that even though these shoes offered more cushioning, they are still super lightweight!
I wasn’t crazy about the colour way at first, but I have to say this lavender and copper combination grew on me pretty quickly 🙂
I should mention that I’m not a super fast runner, so I’m not sure how they would perform for someone who is looking to race for speed. Runs like intervals, short races, etc may be better suited to other kinds of shoes. But for me – a middle of the pack distance runner – I am excited to keep testing out the comfort that these shoes can provide over longer runs as I start my next training cycle. I would absolutely consider buying another pair when these are done!
