About Me: I have been running casually most of my life, usually as a means of staying in shape for other sports (soccer, cycling snowboarding). Began racing in 2009 when a friend invited me to join him and a buddy (team rf member Len) at the Mississauga Marathon 10k. Been hooked ever since.
Sports: Soccer, Snowboarding, Skateboarding, Cycling.
Athletic Goals: Improve my running times. Complete another 1/2 marathon. Coaching my kids (have four all running competitively)
My most memorable racing experience was: Sept. 2010 - Wasaga Beach 1/2 marathon- was sick leading up to the race and still finished in 1:42:03 good enough for 3rd in age group and 19th overall. (you always remember your first!) Mar. 2011 - North Port Florida 5k - Injured my knee in Wasaga 1/2 and hadn't run since. Decided to race while on vacation for fun. finished in 21:36, 1st in age group and 6th overall. Passed my son 100 yards from finish line (ha ha the old guy still has it!) Oct. 2011 - Alma roadkill 10k- took the lead at 1k and held it to the end for a pb of 42:58. Never been in that position before so it was a fun race mentally.
