My most catastrophic racing experience was: At the 2004 Vulture Bait 50k Ultra where I didn'‚Ñ¢t take in enough salt and electrolytes. Which combined with the cold front had me start cramping for the last 12k. Which really sucked as went from a invincible pace to the ultra shuffle.
My most memorable racing experience was: Started at the bottom of Whistler beside the Express with about 100 others. Having spent half of my life on Whistler knew what to expect course wise and planned accordingly. When the gun went off let the field sprint away roughly 120 meters to the first steep section and promptly passed half the field. Maintained a steady relentless pace the whole way. One memory is seeing about 300m up one of the runs a Black Bear sprinting away. Must have been a first for him to be scared off by sheer numbers. Biggest memory was finishing at Pikaâ™s with groups of tourists looking on like we were nuts.
Favourite Racing Gear: Camelbak Transalp, Archmold Insoles, and my Chromag
