Athletic Goals: Continuous improvement. Completing an Olympic Triathlon is a short term goal. Completing multi-day adventure races are a long-term goal. Completing half-Ironman and Ironman events are a long term objective.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: 2012 Frontier Adventure Challenge (12 hour). A combination of poor course design, poor course management and poor decision making made this race a bit of a disaster... many lessons learned!
My most memorable racing experience was: 2012 Wasaga Beach Olympic Triathlon. I entered the Olympic Triathlon event, but due to weather conditions the swim was cancelled turning the event into a duathlon. The run (5k & 5k) and bike (26k) were shortened due to torrential rain and gusting wind conditions. Running through shin high puddles and biking into 50 km/hr head and crosswinds made this race truly memorable.
