Sports: Running. All distances are fun and have their own unique challenges but I have a love/hate relationship for the marathon. To do it well, it will demand a lot of you as well as everyone around you and you still might mess it up!

Athletic Goals: Be a heathy example for my daughters (hopefully living longer in the process) and challenge myself with goals that fit somewhere within my family. Next up is a sub 3hr. marathon.

My most catastrophic racing experience was: It's a tie. 2003 Burlington Marathon—Went out fast, too fast and crashed within 5 km of the finish. My first indicator the wheels were about to fall off was when I was told I was in 6th! 2002 Niagara Fall Marathon—On that cold, wet, windy day mother nature left me shivering for 45 minutes in a volunteers car at mile 18. It's all good!

My most memorable racing experience was: Mile 22, in a three man group that was slowing down deciding to go with the faster runner. I made my Boston qualifying time by 57 seconds.

Favourite Racing Gear: Bandaids and Vaseline and my Garmin 310 and fast shoes...Currently Nike Lunaracer+

Favourite Race: Boston Marathon

Favourite Race Food: Powerbar strawberry banana gels with caffeine. Not sure how much the caffeine helps but it makes me feel better! Oh, I can forget peanut butter and jam on fresh sourdough bread.
