About Me: I ran at a cometitive level during highschool & university. Unfortunatly during my mid 20's I suffered a string of injuries with each one becoming more difficult to recover from. I soon found myself running less and working more (eventually, I stopped running altogether). 2 years ago, an old training partner e-mailed me some photo's from my last race which was 10 years prior. I went out the door that day - 30lbs heavier, alot slower and have not looked back! slowly but surley the "spring" is starting to come back!
Sports: Running has alway been my main sport. I have attempted several of the multi-sports (with little success). I would like to attempt some "ultras" over the next several years.
Athletic Goals: Get fit and faster. (pretty easy huh)
My most catastrophic racing experience was: see below
My most memorable racing experience was: I raced my first ever 15 miles (Sulpher Springs) last year - 09. The first three miles was a breeze. I approached the six mile mark not feeling the greatest. (But no big deal I have suffered during a race before). I completely bonked by nine miles and suffered like I have never suffered before for the remaining six miles. I remember with about 400m to go - a log was across the path which every runner had to hurdle. In my attempt to "get over " the log; I got the worst cramp that I have ever had in my groin. So picture a guy stopped and hunched over in the middle of the path with the finish in sight trying to work out a cramp in a very delicate location!
Favourite Race: Good or Bad - You can walk away and have learned something about yourself
Favourite Race Food: After reading "Born to Run" I am all about the CHIA!
