About Me: I ran off and on through highschool (x-country, track). I really found my groove and love in my early 20s when I ran my first marathon (and blew up). A couple of kids and a career later, I have re-found my love.
Sports: Running...(duh)?
Athletic Goals: 2019 has me doing some 100 milers, some longer timed events. My main goal however is to get out on the trails as often as I can.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: My first marathon at age 23 (Burlington). Weather started at 28 degrees celsius at 8am. At mile 19, totally blew up, had to stop for what felt like an eternity. Shuffled/ran/walked the last 7 miles and finished 1:15 off of a BMQ.
My most memorable racing experience was: Losing a contact lens. In the middle of the night. On a technical trail section. At mile 80 of a 100 mile race. We laughed. and Laughed.
Favourite Racing Gear: Salomon shoes, Black Diamond Headlamp for predawn runs, shorty split shorts or man-pris😛
Favourite Race: Haliburton Forest 100
Favourite Race Food: Gu's, eLoad, ginger snaps, pretzels. And ritz cheese and crackers.
