My most catastrophic racing experience was: I have been lucky and have not had any major catastrophes while racing. knock on wood Sure there have been cramps and nausea, but I have always made it through. My worst fear is getting a flat during a race, I am a VERY slow tire changer.
My most memorable racing experience was: Muskoka long course in 2005. After completing my first ever 2km swim I was 20km into the bike course wondering why everyone was passing me when I realized that my front brake was jammed on. That was the hardest 20km ever. I went on to have my best run to that date and qualify for Ironman Canada.
