About Me: Born and raised in St. Hubert, Quebec (south shore of Montreal), then moved to Ottawa to study journalism/communications at Carleton University, and eventually took the 401 south to Toronto to work at the CBC, TSN and finally the NHL Network.
Sports: Adventure racing, orienteering, mountain biking & trail running
Athletic Goals: Top 3 in any adventure race, i.e. Storm, ARC, Raid the North, etc...;
My most catastrophic racing experience was: My first solo adventure race - Raid Pulse. I missed a marked turn in the opening bike section, putting me way back. After riding hard to catch-up, crashing on a downhill at 40k/hour when I hit a deep patch of sand in the dark. Nothing broken but I was scratched to hell and drenched in blood from the gravel road. After riding to the TA to paddle, I discover after a few kilometers that my rented kayak has a busted rudder and that I'd separated my shoulder in the bike accident. Race done..NEXT!
My most memorable racing experience was: Too many to list but 3 stand out from the rest: 1) RTN New Liskeard - paddling to the finish knowing we'd successfully finished our first 36-hour race with an all-rookie team; 2) ARC Kawarthas - biking towards the finish line on route to my first ever win in a race; 3) Michigan C2C - racing for 53 hours straight with no sleep to hold on to 5th place, with the next team only 6 minutes back
Favourite Racing Gear: Marmot Precip jacket & Powerstretch gloves; Salomon Raid Race 300 pack; Salomon XA Pro 3D shoes
Favourite Race: Raid the North
Favourite Race Food: Pudding-in-a-tube, Fuel bars, Starbucks frappachino, mash potatoes with gravy
