About Me: I began as a recreational runner at the age of 45. Completed my first 1/2 marathon at age 52 and my first marathon 11 months later. I have always had in the back of my mind that some day I might be able to qualify for Boston and that dream came true in September 2013 when I qualified for Boston 2015.

Athletic Goals: to believe in myself

My most catastrophic racing experience was: My first 1/2 Marathon--3 weeks before race I developed severe plantar fasciitis. I was so disappointed because I had trained with a team all winter for this race. I went to the race with my team with the intention of standing on the sidelines to cheer them on. Decided race day I would try to run/walk. Took me 3 1/2 hours and I managed to complete the whole race but looking back it was not the smartest decision. I required medical help after that race and lots of physiotherapy sessions.

My most memorable racing experience was: Was completing my first marathon. Was very skeptical about the race in general. I had initially signed up for the 1/2 marathon but trained to do the marathon...when I got to the race I decided to go for the full and was so glad I had. What an awesome feeling to when I finished to know that I was now a marathoner and I could accomplish such a goal.
