Athletic Goals: To see how far my feet can carry me. Trying my hand at something that takes me more than a few hours to complete. Also trying to include a little more logistics into my runs and going to try some multiday solos.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: 2005 Scotia Marathon. After training all summer, I came down with back to back cases of Strep Throat. Finished my last dose of Antibiotics the night before the race. Ran 12km of the race at pace then tossed cookies for next 4km-ish. I made it past the half way then took off my bib before the spit. I then decided to cheer on friends who were doing the marathon, I became a packmule as they off-loaded waterbelts and clothes. I ended up running in over the finish line with friends to get them thru the ordeal. Definitely set a PW that day.
My most memorable racing experience was: Massanutten 2009: Getting two feet full of juicy blisters and losing 7 toenails in the same race after never having neither blisters or lost one nail before. I guess that's what 17hrs of running in the rain will do for you? At least the Grilled Cheese Sangwiches were awesome!
Favourite Racing Gear: I love my Montrail Rogue Flys and my MHW DryQ jacket. I also like furry hats.
