My most catastrophic racing experience was: By far, my most catastrophic racing experience was doing the Mississauga marathon in 2009. It was my first one and I had a lot to learn. I thought drinking a lot of water in the days leading up to the race was a good idea, but in reality, I think I completely flushed my system of all nutrients that were needed to get through the brutal 42 K of running. I didn't take in any salt or enough gels on the day, and ended up cramping badly and totally bonking. I still managed to pull out a 3:20 marathon, but the last 10K were brutal. I changed alot of things for my next marathon and ran much better in Ottawa, almost going sub 3!
My most memorable racing experience was: My first qualification for the Hawaii Ironman at the 2012 Ironman Mont Tremblant

Favourite Race Food: I've been using Infinite Nutrition for a year now (custom formula fruit punch flavour) and I love it! Saltstick salt capsules work great too! I also love PowerBar Gels (Vanilla & Strawberry Banana), Clif Bars, and Gu Chomps (any flavour). Post training, I love to put back a nice cold PowerBar chocolate or vanilla protein shake!
