About Me: Caledon resident who likes the outdoors. Just got into running a few years ago and a bit late in life (I was 51) but it has become an important part of my life. I have also been a member at Brampton Crossfit for the past three years to help me maintain my strength and build endurance for technical trail runs.

Sports: Running, Crossfit, Baseball, Golf

Athletic Goals: Doing some more stage races internationally and meeting more runners from around the world. Would like to get a 50-miler under my belt in the next year or two.

My most catastrophic racing experience was: North Face 2017. 2KM into marathon distance hit a muddy patch on some single track that was like stepping on ice. Wipeout and in trying to break my fall with my right arm managed to tear rotator cuff. But still finished the race.

My most memorable racing experience was: My first stage race in Iceland in 2014. Stage 3 was the marathon distance. The race started in a lava field and the scenery became more incredible as the race went on. I recall at KM 30, beginning a steep climb then at the apex, looking out over a volcanic crater lake and the colours just blew me away. That was just one moment of an incredible adventure. Running in the savannah in Uganda and having a herd of zebra cut across the trail about 100 feet in front of me was pretty incredible as well.

Favourite Race: Run Iceland, Carrera de Baja, Ottawa Marathon

Favourite Race Food: I stick to the basics before a race. Toast/bagel with PB&J, a banana and some plain yogurt with honey. And always an early morning coffee or two. I have been testing out Bio-Steel as my fuel/electrolyte drink during my Crossfit workouts and will be giving it a try during my long runs.
