My most memorable racing experience was: - In 2011 had my most challeging race in Germany which happened to be 16km. The race was very elite, some runners were at the olympic standards. The first 8km were up and down hills. After 8km it had suddenly turned into a mental game for everyone as we all had to run 4km up hill after that. That was defientely a mental game from there. In the end I was happy I finshed my first International race and manage to place 48th out of 226 runners and placed 1st in my age group. July 12th, 2014 Ran my first Ultra Marathon , which was the 50km Ultra Marathon In Blue mountain! It was a very technical course, with a lot of vertical trail, also having to run up some mountains which made the race even more fun then just the distance Itself!!! After running up the mountains, and reaching the top of the escarpment, There was a very beutiful view of some of the beaches near Blue Mountain as well as looking at the Blue Mountain village! This was one of my toughest races I have ran thus far, but at the same time, most memorable!!! What made this race so memorable for me was to have my family at the race with me, supporting me, as well the man who taught me how to run, Michael Pikney, was running the 50km as well!!! This was my first ever race against my own mentor! I had a great experience running my first Ultra Marathon In Blue Mountain, and being one of the youngest In the race, running the 50km at 21 years of age! So It was nice to add some extreme youth to the competition, considering most people are in there 30's and up, When they start to run Ultra's!!! I enjoyed running the 50km and I learned a lot from It, and I can't wait to run much further Ultra's!!!
