My most catastrophic racing experience was: No matter how bad I feel I always tell myself that if I just keep going it will be over quicker then stopping and resting but I remember one particular mountain bike race where I was having really weird chest pains. So I ended up a DNF and 20 minutes later felt fine. Frustrating. I would have many catastrophic race experiences but I learned early that I should avoid any race that requires an overnight effort. I need my sleep.
My most memorable racing experience was: Kona 2012. Nothing like it.
