Sports: Running takes up most of the available time that I have left. I have started taking part in spinning classes and yoga, although I'm still getting used to both of these.
Athletic Goals: Like many runners I am trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon but I am also interested in completing longer distance races (50k, 50 miler).
My most catastrophic racing experience was: Mississauga marathon 2007: I learned the valuable lesson of making sure that I hydrate properly both before, during and after a race. The nausea that set in on the ride home was terrible and I don't ever wish to repeat.
My most memorable racing experience was: My first marathon (Toronto International 2006). By the 30km mark I had aggravated my IT band to the point that I couldn't even straighten my leg. I ended up walking/running the last 12km but I still finished.
Favourite Racing Gear: For shoes I run in Brooks and New Balance. As for clothing I'm fond of Sugoi and Nike apparel.
Favourite Race Food: Prior to any marathon its oatmeal and a bagel with peanut butter for me.
This was my first time running the Ottawa Marathon and I must say that it was a truly memorable experience.
