About Me: I've been adventure racing since 2003 and never get tired of spending a day (or several) running around in the woods with my teammates exploring new places.
Sports: Adventure Racing, Mountain Biking, Trail Running, Ultrarunning, Orienteering, Horseback Riding.
Athletic Goals: To continue to improve my skills as a navigator, teammate, snackpacker, and all around endurance athlete. To have new adventures in exciting locations with fun people.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: Too many to mention! The one that still stands out for me was my first race as a navigator in 2007, and all of the terrible mistakes that I made!
My most memorable racing experience was: My first multi-day adventure race with team Breathemag.ca at Untamed New England in 2008. I had no idea what I was in for or whether or not I was capable of doing it. I learned a lot about my self-perceived limits at this race and it was an amazing experience with a great group of people. Another memorable experience that I had this past year was captaining the Axis Gear Adventure Girls contest at the Frontier Adventure Sports & Training spring race, where I took out two new female racers. It was so cool to rediscover adventure racing through their eyes and share in the challenge and excitement of it with them. I was thrilled that both signed up for other races this year!
Favourite Racing Gear: I often joke that my favorite designer is Salomon (and that I sponsor them), and I anxiously await the release of any of their new stuff. If they make it, I'll buy it.
Favourite Race: RockstAR
Favourite Race Food: All Vega products, Any flavour of GU, Honey Stingers Organic Fruit Chews, Bonk Breaker bars, Hammer Heed, anything salty!
