My most catastrophic racing experience was: I don't want to jinx myself but the only catastrophic experience I have had so far was when I learned the hard way not to cheap out on shoes. I ended up badly injuring my ankle halfway through training for my first half marathon. However, it was not entirely catastrophic as I learned a very valuable lesson: always buy appropriate gear.
My most memorable racing experience was: Every race I have run has been memorable, but the most memorable was my first marathon in Ottawa, 2014. It was a very emotional experience for me and I am extremely proud of not only what I accomplished that day, but of all the hard work leading up to the event. The support I received from Running Free, my family, and my fellow runners was what kept me going through the tough parts, both in training and on race day.
Favourite Racing Gear: Without a doubt, my Saucony shoes. Just putting them on makes me want to run!
