About Me: I'm a 39 year old mom of two (13&9), living in Wasaga Beach with my husband and rhodesian ridgeback. I obviously love running! I've been running in some capacity since I was 9. I've been a professional firefighter for 15 years and I am currently starting my own photography side business. When I'm not busy with work or running, I enjoy spending family time at the beach.
Sports: I enjoy playing volleyball and softball.... I love watching the Blue Jays and I'm obviously really into my son's hockey and my daughter's gymnastics.
Athletic Goals: I chased the goal of qualifying for Boston for so long (I am finally going this April), so my current goal is to just get through somewhat of a training plan this winter in order to do well in Boston.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: My first two marathons ever (Both the Scotiabank Toronto Marathon) I hit the wall so hard. I have since learned so much about how to fuel properly.
My most memorable racing experience was: The day I found out I officially qualified for the Boston Marathon after working so hard for years prior and dreaming about it a decade earlier.
Favourite Racing Gear: I love my Garmin Forerunner 45.... It is simple, affordable and exactly what I need. My salomon running vest is perfect for long runs!
Favourite Race: Revel Mount St Charleston Marathon. The event was well executed from start to finish and it was so much fun! You start in the cold up a mountain and end in the warmth.
Favourite Race Food: Mautren Caf 100 gels are the best for long runs! I also enjoy a chocolate protein shake after each workout with a banana, peanut butter, ice and Almond milk.
